On the front page, there is a block with news. Following the link underneath, or the 'news' header itself leads to a blank page.

I am unable to find a blank page following the news link.

It's the 'more news' at the bottom right of the home page underneath the 'latest news' - it goes to a blank page.
The 'other news' the option on the top 'news' feed goes to the can stuff, which seems a bit strange.
I think I've fixed it well
I think I've fixed it well enough by removing the "OG: Posts in Current Group" requirement in the latest-news Views filter. You now see items posted to your subscribed groups. If it is meant to be just for publicly accessible items, we could add the "OG: Public" filter as well.
