another cycle advoacy group - ridestrong

The launching of a new cycle advocacy group might mean that CAN is not the only voice for cycle advocacy in New Zealand. On Saturday the Otago Daly times carried a short story about the lanch of a new cycle advocacy group called RideStrong, at the Lake Taupo challenge. I found a fuller article on the following webpage

Which leads off as follows

RideStrong to offer cyclists united voice in NZ Print E-mail

k2tvaMore than one million cyclists will be invited to join a new organisation to give those on two wheels a voice in New Zealand.

The RideStrong movement will be dedicated to promoting a safe and enjoyable environment for all cyclists.

RideStrong was launched on the eve of New Zealand's biggest recreational cycling event with more than 10,000 riders to take part in the annual Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge tomorrow.

Is this some group dissatisfed with CAN performance? is it a group tht's genuinely unaware of the existance of CAN? They seem to have organised some sponsorship as the article states "he campaign will be led by BikeNZ with support from Raboplus, Perry Foundation and SPARC."
