"UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne wants a change to the road code to require drivers to give cyclists a 1.5 metre "bubble" when passing them" See attachment for full press release.
In this podcast, Dunne expresses his concern for cycle safety, and support for the Great Harbour Way.
This is interesting! He supported John Key and Rodney Hide when they said "it was about cars" and were happy to cut cycling budgets.
Knowing about him pretty well, I hope he is not using this for any personal political milage - to be seen cozying up with the greens.
I will be happy to talk to him and see what he can do to make cycling safer but will be vary if it has any political twists.
Sorry! I am not being skeptical, just a tad cautious.
