Numbers Game Submissions

  • A lot simpler than a "technical"/detailed submission
  • May be a simple email or reply post form with "I support/Don't Support"
  • Can be viewed with some importance by Politicians trying to gauge level of support (sometimes too much importance...)
  • Can be useful to encourage lots of members to submit simple submissions like this (provide them with email address, website, and feedback forms)
  • Staff reporting on numbers and comments varies around the place

General hints on "Numbers Game" submissions

  • Encourage group members to put in submissions by providing email address, website for finding information, and feedback forms
  • You can hint about issues to consider but it is best to encourage people not to all use the same "boilerplate" (pro forma) text
  • May be better for people to identify themselves as residents/voters rather than walkers/cyclists
  • Personal experience/impact adds credibility to submissions i.e not just doing it because you were told to by a group
