Road Safety Coordinators

Some 50 Road Safety Co-ordinators (RSCs) are being employed throughout the country to assist Road Controlling Authorities with road safety work.

These Road Safety Co-ordinators are responsible for awareness campaigns suitable for their region, e.g. drink-driving, speeding, red light running, etc. Some cycle-specific campaigns are also supported, like the 'Annabel' cartoon series in Christchurch, "Share the Road" campaigns, bicycle light promotions, and recent "1.5m" and "Don't Burst Their Bubble" campaigns.

Details of RSCs (and other local road safety contacts) in your district can be found on the Community Road Safety Providers (CRSP) website - www.crsp.net.nz

Many road safety promotion programmes can be funded by applying to the Road Safety Trust - see: http://www.roadsafety.govt.nz/ for details.
