MINUTES

Present: Graeme, Alan, Nigel, Stuart, Nathaniel, Joelle

 

1. Current bank balance $397.79

2. Facebook page - agreed to upload Josh Girvan video of cycling along walkwalk and to hold contest for top 3 posts in one month to receive prize of iTunes cards.

Action: Graeme to visit TSB to find out who signatories are and will notify Stuart if she needs another signatory.

Action: Graeme will sent out link to Facebook contest to full email list and Stuart will post to Transition Towns Facebook page.

3. Graeme reported on Can-Do in Auckland - 65 people registered, which is largest attendence so far. CAN has $300,000 contract to offer safety workshops, to include bus/bike and truck/bike workshops.

4. Nathaniel reported that Glow Night will be on Fri 24th May this year. There will be a ride around dusk

Action: Nathaniel will send through link so this can be posted to NTCA and Transition Towns Facebook page and full NTCA email list.

5. Let's Go update - Te Henui bridges should be finished in June. Detailed design work has started on Coronation Ave. All schools are offering cycle and scooter skills training. Joelle reported 310 students did cycle skills and 900 scooter skills training. Extension of coastal walkway through Bell Block currently out for consultation.

Action: Nathaniel to notify Graeme of deadline for feedback on consultation.

Action: Graeme to substitute for Stuart at 10 June Let's Go Working Party meeting 10th June at 4:30.

6. Maintenance issues

Mangatouku walkway has section where drains aren't sealed between Endeavor Street and Discovery Pl

Breakwater car park interface obstructed by lump of concrete.

7. Joelle reported that Play Space strategy consultation due 24 May and that Frocks on Bikes will be having ride from Te Rewa Rewa Bridge to the Links in Bell Block. Ride to start at 8:20 am.

I am very happy to report that NPDC is currently (15 May 2013) working on the walkway and upgrading the drainage and carrying out some surface repairs (to concrete) in two places - well done and thank you NPDC!
