Hi Guys,

Some of the cycling folk of Porirua had a meeting  to talk about forming a Cycling Advocacy group to promote cycling in the Porirua area, this would be separate from the Kapiti Cycling and CAW. I suggested that they should consider speaking to CAN about becoming part of the Cycling Advocates Network which people thought was a good idea.

Is it possible to get a local CAN committee member to come and speak to the group? Our next meeting is to be held on the Thursday 1st July at 19:30 with the venue as yet not formalised. If not a CAN committee member then perhaps, an experienced high profile CAW member? Alastair Maybe or Patrick?

We had a good turn out and had people such as John Poppleton, Andrew Grey and Ann Bondy in attendance. I might also find out if someone from Kapiti Cycling can attend for networking purposes.

If CAN/CAW can facilitate this can you please let me know as I will be the contact point between the group and CAN.
