We've received a hard copy of the report of the KiwiRAP road assessment project - can also be accessed online. Assesses main highways in terms of visiblity, risk factors etc.
From a cycling point of view, an interesting measure is the proportion of the highway that has good sealed shoulder width (>1.2m) - the Wellington region doesn't do too badly - 42% of our highways have a good shoulder width compared with 13% nationally. But it still means that for over half of trip on main highways, a cyclist is sharing the lane with other traffic
