The Draft Community Plan is up on the website, see - http://www.huttcity.govt.nz/publications-forms/Community-Plan/Summary-Co..., Submissions by 30th April.
There are two ways we need to support cycling projects in the plan. The first is a CAW submission which I am happy to work on but would like to do it with others. Let me know if you are keen.
The other and maybe more important is to complete the questionaire on the website here http://www.huttcity.govt.nz/Documents/ltccp/2009%20summary/2009%20Draft%... but I think also sent to all those in the Hutt.
The questionaire asks you to prioritise the 3 below proposed cycling project. Pretty exciting - real money not pocket moneymight get something done. The results of the questionaire pushed cycling off the defferred list a couple of years ago. Really important to get these in and ask others to.
Also support Mckenzie Pool so my kids will have somewhere to cycle to. The projects listed in the summary are:
ACTIVITY 7: ROADING AND TRAFFIC
Cycleway network – $1.7 million over 10 years to
develop the cycleway network (58% subsidised
by NZ Transport Agency)
Wainuiomata Hill Road shared path – $4 million over
three years to provide a shared walkway/cycleway
over the Wainuiomata Hill, including a footbridge over
the road at the summit, to improve safety for walkers
and cyclists (58% subsidised by NZ Transport
Agency)
Cycleway network development – an extra $300,000 a
year from 2012/13 to accelerate development of the
cycle network, address key choke points and
complete the strategic network within 10 to 15 years
(58% subsidised by NZ Transport Agency)
