Wanted - CAN Technical Advisor

VACANCY - CAN Technical Advisor

A position exists within the CAN volunteer group for someone interested in assisting in providing technical (traffic engineering and transportation planning) leadership and advice for CAN.

Having access to up-to-date and accurate technical information is important for CAN's advocacy. It helps to give our submissions and meetings credibility and influence. The Technical Advisor helps to provide this information.

Are you interested in all or part of the following?

  • Advising CAN on technical issues related to the design and funding of transport infrastructure, including roads, intersections and cycle facilities
  • Acting as a contact point for member queries on technical issues (technical@can.org.nz has been set up for this purpose)
  • Participating in discussions through the CAN Technical and CAN Forums as needed
  • Assisting CAN Exec and member groups on technical issues as needed

More information on the role can be found at: http://can.org.nz/candocument/role-descriptions-for-volunteer-positions

Also you can contact Andrew Macbeth (who is a current Technical Advisor) (mailto:andrew@can.org.nz) and he can fill you in on what is involved.

If you are interested in being considered and think you have expertise in the planning, design and maintenance of roads and cycle facilities, please contact:

Graeme at: graeme@can.org.nz ASAP with how you see yourself taking on the role.
