In 2021 Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is holding the On the Go Awards in partnership with Cycling Action Network and Living Streets Aotearoa as an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and contribution of projects that support a healthier, cleaner and safer transport system.
"We would like to thank those who have sent through their nominations for the On the Go Awards 2020. We’ve received all nominations and thank you for the time and effort in compiling these, as well as the energy and innovation put into making active travel a safer and more attractive transport choice.
Due to the Government’s announcement on Monday regarding COVID-19 alert levels and uncertainty around what the alert level will be in three weeks’ time, the 2WALKandCYCLE 2020 Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2WALKandCYCLE conference. The Conference will now be held on 16 – 19 March 2021.
As the On the Go Awards 2020 are an integral part of the conference dinner, the decision has been made that these Awards will also be postponed.
All entries received to date will remain eligible, and we expect to invite more nominations closer to the conference date. If you’d like to rework your application or add information to it we encourage you to do so when we re-open for nominations. We will be sending a reminder email at that time."

Previously known as the Bike to the Future Awards, we have changed the name and expanded the categories to go beyond just cycling. These awards celebrate the champions, leaders, organisations and communities who have put their energy and innovation into making any form of active travel a safer and more attractive transport choice for people.
Waka Kotahi sponsors the awards and welcome entries from any organisation or individual that can demonstrate projects or people that are making New Zealand a healthier, cleaner and safer place to get around.
If you have any questions about the awards please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winners will be announced at the 2WALKandCYCLE conference dinner in Dunedin in March 2021.
