for the next New Zealand Government (2020-2023)
Biking is booming. E-bikes are super-popular. More cycling means healthier communities, safer streets, more attractive cities and towns for people and business. It's excellent value for money.
1 PRIORITY Get kids biking to school
The targets: 6% of all kids’ trips to school by bike by December 2023
30 kmh zones around 50% of urban schools by December 2023
2 PRIORITY Build bicycle-friendly cities
The target: 2000 km of cycleways by 2023, more of them separated
3 PRIORITY Fresh approach to road safety: implement Vision Zero
The target Vision Zero – no deaths or serious injuries on New Zealand roads.
