Cycle Aware Wellington appreciates a lot of the points made in the draft LTCCP, but believes Council should specifically address the needs of people who cycle, set some performance measures and targets.

Submission on proposed Turitea Windfarm in the Manawatu

Mightly River power are proposing to build a windfarm on ridgelines in the Turitea in the hills near Palmerston North. A large part of this would be in the Turitea Nature Reserve which is the water catchment for the town water supply. Many members of Cycle Aware Manawatu are concerned about the adverse effects this proposal would have on cycling if consented. The attached submission was therefore sent from the group.
