Regional Transport Committee - Nelson & Tasman

Tasman District Council Regional Transport Committee

The following appointments were confirmed at the Engineering Services Committee meeting on 4 September 2008.

  • Crs Trevor Norriss (Chair), Stuart Bryant (Deputy Chair), Tim King, Barry Dowler and Judene Edgar;
  • Christine Musgrave to representing the objective of environmental sustainability;
  • Bill Findlater of the Nelson Tasman Economic Development Agency representing economic development;
  • Inspector Brian McGurk of the New Zealand Police representing safety and personal security;
  • Paul Heywood of the Nelson Automobile Association representing access and mobility.

Since that meeting, Mr Peter Burton from the Nelson-Marlborough District Health Board was confirmed by Council resolution to represent the public health objective.

We are now waiting to hear from Tiakina te Taiao regarding a nominee to represent the cultural interests objective.

 

Nelson City Council Regional Transport Committee

The following resolution passed at the Council Meeting held on 2 October 2008.

THAT the following persons be appointed to represent the relevant objectives and cultural interests:

i.               The Objective of Economic Development – Bill Findlater

ii.             The Objective of Safety and Personal Security – Inspector Brian McGurk

iii.           The Objective of Public Health – Dr John Moore

iv.           The Objective of Access and Mobility – Jeremy Glasgow

v.             The Objective of Environmental Sustainability – Katy Steele

vi.           Cultural Interests – Waiahere (Joe) Mason

AND THAT the Council appoint Councillors Collingwood, Holmes, Miccio, Shaw and Thomas as its members to represent it on the Regional Transport Committee:

AND THAT the Council appoint Councillor Shaw as Chairperson and Councillor Holmes as Deputy Chairperson from among these five representatives;

AND THAT the composition of the Regional Transport Committee be released from public excluded.
