By ensuring CAN's quarterly ChainLinks magazine and other material is mailed to members in a timely way, the Mailouts Co-ordinator assists CAN to offer a key membership benefit, and helps to keep CAN members informed.
The Mailouts Co-ordinator is appointed by the Executive. It is not essential for the postholder to also be on the Executive.
Role:
- to mail ChainLinks and other documents to CAN members
Duties:
- print labels (emailed from secretary)
- request numbers of Chainlinks to be sent from secretary
- receive Chainlinks from printer (delivered by courier) every 4 months
- purchase envelopes and request cheque for payment of envelopes from Treasurer
- print labels (at home) (ensure have address labels in stock)
- post mailouts to individual members and member organisations
- request reimbursement for courier charges and incidentals from Treasurer
- post receipts to Treasurer
- mailout includes membership renewal letters annually
- mailouts sometimes include other printed matter which may require a request and visit to a local print shop
- complete occasional one-off mailouts as requested by Secretary

Support/working relationships:
- practical help and advice available from Secretary and CAN staff
Time commitment
- for Chainlinks mailout – 6 hours every 4 months.
- 10 minutes on average per week on miscellaneous single member mailouts
Desired qualities/experience:
- limited knowledge of CAN's purpose and activities
- access to a Post Office to buy envelopes and post mailouts
- Internet access and some skills with basic computer software (word processor, spreadsheet)
- access to a printer
