This study examined the parental perceptions of the benefits and barriers to bicycle helmet use and their level of knowledge about bicycle safety issues. A school-based bicycle safety program was taught to first- and second-graders by a graduate nursing student. A parent questionnaire was developed....the implications from this research include the importance of bicycle safety education interventions for students and parents and the need to implement helmet legislation.
