Bike Futures 09 Conference, Melbourne
Bike Futures '09 is the key to unlocking the solutions that government professionals and community leaders require at the local, state and national level.
Over two days of intense sessions you and your colleagues will be exposed to the latest thinking on every major issue confronting communities moving to embrace the bicycle revolution.
The conference is presented by the Bicycle Network across Australia, and hosted by Bicycle Victoria, Australia's leading bike organisation, and an international pathfinder in the development of policy, planning and activities promoting the growth of bike riding.
Keynote speaker is Niels Tørsløv, Director of the Traffic Department at the City of Copenhagen, where he has guided the massive and unprecedented development of the bike transportation environment. Copenhagen will have 50 per cent of all trips by bike by 2020. Niels Tørsløv will show us how the Danish capital will get there.
Hosted at the MCG function centre, just minutes from the CBD, the event will comprise keynote and themed sessions across key disciplines, site visits, and a Conference Dinner.
The Conference is on Thursday 15 and Friday 16, October, in the middle of Melbourne¹s peak bike activity week which kicks off with Ride to Work Day on the Wednesday, takes in the Go Bike Expo, the finish of the Sun Tour on Saturday and concludes on Sunday with Around the Bay in a Day, the nation's largest mass participation ride event.
